When it comes to preparing sweets and treats for the holidays, my favourites are the kind that are no-bake and usually comes in the form of a ball. My collection of 25 Christmas Ball and Truffle Recipes will no doubt include several of your favourites too. These tried and tested recipes are just what you need to jump-start your holiday baking!
Balls and truffles are in most cases, a no-bake sweet confection that is enjoyed by many at Christmastime. Even though they are good anytime, it seems that they are prepared in many homes around the holidays. They are easy to prepare and very little skill is needed to make a beautiful treat! So, I’ve compiled a list of my favourites. Are you ready to decide which of these 25 Christmas Ball and Truffle Recipes you will be preparing this holiday season?
TRUFFLES VS BALLS
Without boring you to tears, it’s rather really simple. Even though some will argue that a truffle must consist of two things – chocolate and cream – I disagree. I think a truffle can be anything you like as long as it is rolled into a ball and either dipped in melted chocolate or rolled into something like coconut, graham crumbs or even cocoa.
The great thing about truffles is that they are no-bake. That means that anyone can make them! They’re great for those younger home-cooks who are just learning their way around a kitchen. They can make delicious treats without having to turn on the oven. Truffles are certainly a well-loved treat, so in most cases, they are well received too!
In contrast, a ball can be a truffle-type confection as well, but can also come in the form of a cookie. Most ball type recipes, however, are no bake as well, but don’t necessarily have that chocolate and cream combination.
