Fries made from carrots?! I know it is crazy but these carrot fries are so good you guys. Are they as good as french fries? I mean.. they’re totally different! These are so delicious and a great side dish to make to add to your meal. And they’re totally kid-approved too by my littles over here.

I love how easy these carrot fries are to make and how easy it is to whip them up. They don’t take much effort and you can really add in any spices and things you want. I do spices, oil and some grated cheese most often.

And it is worth noting that I am not a carrot fan usually. Unless it’s a carrot cake or carrot cake banana bread of sorts. But these carrot fries even get me to enjoy roasted carrots!

What ingredients are in these baked carrot fries:

  • Carrots – peeled, sliced in half, then in three’s
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Paprika
  • Avocado oil– or use olive oil if you prefer
  • Tapioca flour– or arrowroot flour works too and cornstarch
  • Optional: grated parmesan cheese on top

FAQs on making baked carrot fries:

  • Can you make these carrot fries in the air fryer? I usually bake mine but you can do air fryer too! I’d assume same time and same temperature.
  • Can you use cooking spray instead of oil? I usually use oil but spray can work too if you want these lighter.
  • Are these carrot fries spicy? Not at all! If you want to make them spicy you can though. My kids eat these too so I usually keep the spice level down.
  • What is the best way to reheat these? Usually in a skillet greased with oil if you want crispy but you can also microwave them if it is easier.

Hey, just wondering where you add the avocado oil, is it before the dry seasonings so they stick, just wondering, thanks for a yummy recipe, found you on Instagram and pinned you on Pinterest. I’m @recoveryinternational on insta and Spirit Movement on Pinterest.

I’d seen recipes for carrot fries before and had always shied away…Now I’m not sure why, because I made these and I’m obsessed!! It’s a nice change from my usual sweet potatoe fries and the flavor was awesome! I accidentally didn’t set a timer and forget they were even in the oven, but came back later and they were perfectly crispy and roasty. 🙂

Adding the oil to the spices did not work well for us. Was clumpy and didn’t evenly coat at all. I will try it again but I would coat the carrots and oil and then sprinkle the dry ingredients over them evenly
