Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (2024)

Story Highlights

  • Some games out there are so well-made, you can’t help but see through their utmost end.
  • Titles like Astro’s Playroom, Ghost of Tsushima, and Arkham Knight are total experiences.
  • 100% completion typically means that you’re unlocking the Platinum trophy for a specific game.

The video games industry has spawned an array of calculated masterpieces over time, with some of them coming across as significantly better than others. Out of all the titles we’ve ever received in the AAA industry, however, only a small percentage of them are worth what I would like to coin as “completing 100%.”

That means unlocking every secret, going through every mission, and finishing every side quest possible to squeeze every last single drop of juice from such a game. In case you’re after such titles yourself and are looking forward to playing them soon, I’ve cherry-picked them for you right ahead, so you know what to dive into from here on out.

Call ‘Em More Of An Experience, Rather Than Just A Game

I would love it though if you could comment down below and tell me about such games that you’ve experienced over time.

1. Astro’s Playroom

Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (1)

At the very top of the list rests what is a personal favorite and an exceptional platformer whose greatness knows no bounds. Astro’s Playroom starts out as a mere tech demo for the PlayStation 5, giving people a little insight into the limits of the console and the magical DualSense, but oh boy, doesn’t it do a much bigger job than just that?

Sadly, the game remains an underrated PlayStation exclusive that flew under the radar for so many, but rest assured, it’s worth playing and then some any day of the week. I’m super glad though that Team Asobi decided to go ahead with a sequel of the title, unveiling it last State of Play and setting it up for launch in September.

2. Armored Core 6

Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (2)

This game is going to make you care about mechs, mark my words. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon had no business being this fun, but surprise surprise! FromSoftware never fails to deliver it seems, and with this third-person shooter, I’ve found the perfect excuse to 100% complete yet another title. But do you know what’s the best part? Fires of Rubicon has an NG+ mode that’s beyond the regular.

For starters, it hides thetrue ending of the game behind that feature, all the while bringing forth what is arguably the hardest boss fight in the entire shooter. Now something like that, you don’t see it coming across in every other game. Give it a go if you haven’t already. You won’t be regretting it.

3. Batman: Arkham Knight

Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (3)

Next up, we have at our disposal another remarkable entry that’s dripping with quality from top to bottom. Batman: Arkham Knight marks the end of the Arkham franchise trilogy by Rocksteady Studios, and despite coming out almost a decade ago, the game still holds up as one of the best superhero games ever made.

It’s loaded to the brim with side missions and other challenges that make it so value-driven. However, having 100% completed the title, I can’t say I’m a fan of the Riddler’s trophy hunt. God, that can be tiresome.

4. Ghost Of Tsushima

Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (4)

Outselling even new releases by a far mile even years after its release, Ghost of Tsushima belongs in the history books for its sheer quality. The action-adventure masterpiece by Sucker Punch Productions — the creator of the now-forgotten Infamous franchise — has made a killing commercially over the years, being one of the most gratifying games you could play in today’s day and age.

Sensational combat with a variety of sword stances, a fantastic open world brimming with detail, and a heart-rending storyline that will have you curling up into a ball—you name it. eXputer reviewed the PC port of the game and rated it 4/5, with author Hamid Ali Shah remarking,

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is a must-play samurai epic with a stellar PC port by Nixxes and Sucker Punch.”

5. Subnautica

Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (5)

To many, Subanutica is a little too scary, but for those brave enough to challenge the deep seas, I promise this is one game you do not want to miss out on. It’s just that the world of Subnautica is exceptionally immersive. It grips you in right from the get-go and fails to let go, thereby compelling you to explore every inch of the deep sea, collect everything, go everywhere, and more.

It’s certainly something to marvel at, not to mention the progression system designed for the game that has you making strides in a super unique manner.

6. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Games Worth Completing 100% Because They're That Amazing (6)

I really wish FromSoft would work on a sequel to this one, considering how Sekiro is a genre-defining action-adventure Soulslike, made spectacular with its riveting combat, exceptional world design, and terrific boss fights. Getting to 100% completion in the game is such a rewarding challenge. You push yourself to the max, and end up basking in the glory of its fruit.
